Badly needed improvements to Badenhop Road, which would provide industrial access to Franke Foodservice Systems, Inc., is being pursued by the City of Fayetteville.

The project would be funded through the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s industrial access program, according to a resolution approved by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen Tuesday.

Improvements would extend 920 feet along Badenhop Road from Franke Boulevard to the city limits where the road ties into Providence.

In other business during last week’s meeting, City Board members approved a vehicle repair agreement with the Emergency Communications/911 Department, which will allow the city’s Public Works Department to repair E911 vehicles as needed. Priority, though, would be given to the city’s emergency vehicles and garbage collection trucks, according to the agreement.

A number of routine amendments were also made to the Fayetteville Department of Education’s budget, and a statement on the recent Fayetteville Public Utilities’ refinancing was also read as an informational item.

Referring to last week‘s edition of The Times, a story on the 21 applicants for the city administrator’s position, Mayor John Ed Underwood noted that he anticipates interviews with the top seven to 10 candidates being scheduled by the first of May, following April’s budget hearings.
