Babysitting Rocks training slated

Youth who want to make money over the summer by babysitting should plan to attend a training session being held in Fayetteville in April.

UT Extension Lincoln County will be offering a 4-H training called “Babysitting Rocks!” on Friday, April 25, from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 26, from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m.

This workshop is open to all youth ages 13 and up. It will focus on child development, health and safety and the overall responsibilities associated with caring for children.

The class will be taught by Shea Austin, UT Extension Lincoln County’s Family and Consumer Sciences Agent.

Participants will receive a Babysitter’s Handbook, UT Certificate of Course Completion, a set of business cards and a Babysitter’s Bag. Snacks will be provided.

Participants will experience a fun time of games, activities, discussion and learning.  A $30 fee will be charged for the class; fee will need to be paid in advance.
