One person has been charged in connection with the explosion early Friday morning at a southern Lincoln County home, apparently the result of a meth lab operating inside the home.
Lincoln County Sheriff Murray Blackwelder said the homeowner was taken into custody about 1 a.m. Saturday and charged in connection with the explosion and ensuing fire. The four-year-old home at 12 Remington Drive near South Lincoln Elementary School was completely destroyed.
State bomb and arson investigators were on the scene Friday afternoon and evening, combing through the debris. Authorities had been unable to locate an unidentified individual, who was thought to have possibly been at the time of the explosion, but Saturday morning, the individual was found safe and sound, said the sheriff.
Firefighters from across the county responded to the call just before 8 a.m. Friday morning and worked to quickly extinguish the fire.
