Auction items that will be included in both the silent and live auctions, during the Friends of the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Library Spring Gala and Auction, are garnering a great deal of attention.
The Winter Gala will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Library, 306 Elk Avenue North.
Among auction items thus far are two Kenny Chesney Trip Around the Sun Tour tickets and a parking pass for Aug. 11, donated by White & Holland, LLC; a long weekend’s stay at a Destin Beach home, given by Fred and Valerie Womack; Flowers of the Month, given by The Flower House; a beautiful necklace, donated by Spray’s Jewelers; a Plunder Jewelry Basket, donated by Jennifer Murdock; a luxurious outdoor bed swing, donated by Terry Reavis; a plate bar necklace, given by Sabghi’s Jewelers; and dinner at The Local Café.
Tickets are on sale for the for the gala event, and ticket outlets include the main office of the Bank of Lincoln County in Fayetteville and Carter’s Drug Store and Bagley and Bagley Insurance on the square. A limited number of tickets are also available at the library.
The price of each ticket is $40, which includes wonderful food and beverage, live entertainment by local group Blue Velvet, and a chance to bid on a number of exciting items during both live and silent auctions. John Hoagland will be the auctioneer for the live auction. All proceeds from the evening are used to provide programming and equipment for the Library, and to help retire the building debt.
“Consider getting a group together to come out and support the library, which is always decorated in spectacular fashion for this event,” said Bonnie Hereford, a member of the organizing committee. “We’re proud of our library, and we want to show it!”
