Ralph Askins Elementary School children who donated items for the 18th annual Christmas Critter Campaign, a collection for the Fayetteville Animal Shelter, help load the shelter’s truck as Denise Isbell, shelter manager, stands by. The campaign was originally initiated by Fran Rawleigh, who now serves as principal. Each year students collect food, toys and cleaning products that will be used to help care for the many animals at the shelter.

    The Humane Society of Lincoln County’s Animal Shelter is a “Limited Admission” Shelter – that means that when cages or kennels are full, the Shelter staff will not accept any owner surrendered or stray animals until space becomes available. “If the Shelter is at capacity, the only way to make room for more animals is to get some adopted or euthanize them,” said Sharon Dunkin, president of the Humane Society,

  • SAAW clinic sees 2,594 surgeries in first year

    After its first year in operation, the Southern Alliance Spay Neuter Clinic in Parks City has released numbers regarding surgeries. According to Bonnie Cowan, SAAW/Lincoln County president, since May 22, 2013, the clinic has spayed and neutered 1,065 dogs and 1,529 cats.
