Golf outing aids 10U Velocity

The Velocity 10U baseball team’s first annual Golf Outing, a four man scramble, will be held Saturday, March 21, at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Fayetteville. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with tee-off at 9 a.m. The cost is $55 per single or $220 a team. This includes 18 holes of golf, a cart and lunch. Events include a putting challenge, longest drive, closest to the pin and chip challenge.

  • NGA sets cheer info meeting

  • Local twins train for Polocrosse World Cup

    Twins Braxton and Garret Hamlin (wearing green) from Kelso train diligently in preparation for the Polocrosse World Cup 2015 in South Africa this June.  The brothers will represent the USA at the event to be held at Mooi River in South Africa. In this shot, Braxton drives while Garrett comes up the back to take a member of the red team from Maryland’s Bay area polocrosse team during the Carolina Classic Polocrosse Tournament held in Pinehurst, N.C., in which the Hamlin boys’ team won their division.

    Twin brothers Braxton and Garret Hamlin of Kelso have grown up playing polocrosse and are currently preparing to represent Lincoln County and the USA this summer as they compete in the Polocrosse World Cup 2015 in South Africa. Champion teams from the UK, USA, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Zambia and Zimbabwe will be competing in the June 27 to July 13 event. Eight teams will be divided into two pools,

  • Unity hosts Duck, Dive Dodgeball Tourney

    Registrations are now being accepted for Unity School’s Lions Pride Duck and Dive Dodgeball Tournament, a event that will be held Saturday, March 7.     Lincoln County Middle School Basketball Tournament to be played at Ninth Grade Academy gets underway Tuesday with two games played starting at 6 p.m., then continuing Thursday with four games played starting at 4:30 p.m. The championship game will be played Saturday starting at 6 p.m. Admission is $4 per night for everyone school age and above.
