Carter’s 7- and 8-year-old youth baseball team, which won the city’s opening tournament earlier this month, is decked out in pink to honor women with breast cancer. Team members and players share special connections to survivors of the disease.

    The Fayetteville Area Swim Team (FAST) will hold registration for this year’s swim team at Stone Bridge Park Pavilion Wednesday, April 23, from 5 until 6 p.m. Swimmers 18 years of age and younger are eligible.   • Dangerfield wins Gatorade Player of the Year honor

    Star player of Blackman High School’s the Lady Blaze, in Murfreesboro, Crystal Dangerfield, was named the Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year on March 13. Crystal, at 5’5”, led the Lady Blaze to the school’s first state title in any TSSAA-sanctioned sport. For this season, she averaged 14.5 points a game with 3.6 assists and 2.9 steals.
