Trap Team earns championship titles, awards

The Lincoln County Trap Team brought home several national champion honors and other awards at the recent Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA) Youth Trapshooting National Championship held at the World Shooting Recreation Complex in Sparta, Ill., from Aug. 2-5. Nearly 1,200 competitive shooters from around the nation competed in traditional trapshooting events, and in addition, there were tactical rimfire and special trapshooting competitions.   • Local Trap Team celebrates year of big wins

    Lincoln County Trap Team had a winning year with numerous awards at regional, state and national tournaments. The team would not have been capable of participating and being so successful without wonderful volunteer coaches and generous sponsors, organizers said. The coaches, Mark Horton, Kevin Tanner, Ken Counts, Kay Counts and Larry Boyett, encouraged high character, good sportsmanship, and parent participation.   • Motlow honors program hosts inaugural Survival Run

    The Motlow College honors program will host its first annual Survival Run fundraiser on the Moore County campus Saturday, Sept. 13, according to Dr. Scott Cook, associate professor of history and honors program coordinator.
