Kiwanis River Run set Saturday

Kiwanis 7K River Run will be held on Saturday, May 2, beginning at 8 a.m. The start and finish line is located at the River Bend Event Center located at 82 Rambo Road. Registration is online or may be mailed in. The cost is $30. Registration includes a tech shirt and snacks after the race.   • FPU golf tournament aids Parker

    The employees of Fayetteville Public Utilities are hosting a golf tournament to benefit Curtis Parker, a fellow employee who is battling colon cancer. The golf tournament is slated for Saturday, May 30, at the Pebble Creek Golf Club in Fayetteville. The tournament features two flights.   • Blue Ribbon Horse Show April 10

    The 34th Annual Fayetteville Blue Ribbon Horse show will get underway at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 10, at the Lincoln County Horseman’s and 4-H Horse Show Grounds just off the Lewisburg Highway. Proceeds from the event will benefit Lincoln County 4-H clubs. More than 30 classes will be included in the competition, with ribbons being awarded five places deep in each.   • Clinicians on hand for Horse Expo this month

    Lincoln County Horseman’s Association is hosting a Horse Expo on Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Lincoln County Horseman’s grounds off Lewisburg Highway.     Riverside Christian Academy senior Gage Cox recently signed a baseball scholarship with Hannibal-LaGrange University. Gage has played on two USSSA championship teams and three BPA championship teams. He finished last season with a .319 batting average, .404 slugging percentage and .453 on base percentage.
