Swift Night Out at the Tullahoma High School parking lot, sponsored by the Highland Rim Chapter of Tennessee Ornithological Society, will be held Saturday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m. Bring a chair and binoculars and watch chimney swifts dive by the thousands into the school’s chimney. Heart Healthy Diet Education Class, sponsored by the Lincoln County Health System, will be offered at Lincoln Medical Center. The class is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 11, from 3 until 4 p.m. in the education room, ground level, at Lincoln Medical Center. Vietnam Era Veterans’ monthly evening meetings will be held at Mike’s All American Diner, 1842 North Main Street, Shelbyville, on the second Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. The next meeting will be held Thursday, Sept. 11, and will feature Donnie Porter, a member of the Vietnam Era Veterans who will present POW/MIA information. Flintville Class of 1954 celebrates its 60th reunion at Victoria’s Restaurant in Parks City on Saturday, Sept. 13. Social time is at 11 a.m., with lunch at noon. Victoria’s is located on Huntsville Highway in the Piggly Wiggly shopping center.
The Imagination Library Five-Mile Race will be held at Kiwanis Park in Fayetteville on Saturday, Sept. 20. The Third Annual Field Party, hosted by Friends of the Library, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Cotton Mill Preserve. This end-of-the-summer, family-oriented event will help raise money for the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Public Library. “Four on the Floor” will perform. Children’s activities include face-painting and bouncy houses, as well as food for all to enjoy from food vendors on site. Cotton Mill Preserve is located at 240 Shelbyville Highway.
