Live music will start Thursday, Sept. 25, in the basement of the Lincoln County Arts Center as Ron Hackett and Taylor Houch host a combined songwriters night, musicians jam, and open mic evening. This will be a weekly event, open to all, every Thursday from 7 to 10 p.m. Coffee and soft drinks will be available for a small fee to cover costs. Free to all Arts Center members, non-members are asked to make a $2 donation. The center is located at 303 Main Avenue South, Fayetteville.
The Third Annual Field Party, hosted by Friends of the Library, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Cotton Mill Preserve. This end-of-the-summer, family-oriented event will help raise money for the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Public Library. “Four on the Floor” will perform. Children’s activities include face-painting and bouncy houses, as well as food for all to enjoy from food vendors on site. Cotton Mill Preserve is located at 240 Shelbyville Highway.
Harvest Happening, St. Anthony Catholic Church’s fall festival, will be held Saturday, Oct. 4, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the church, 1900 Huntsville Highway, Fayetteville. The event will include clothing and accessories and a variety of items, as well as a silent auction, crafts and jewelry boutique, games, face painting, prizes and more. There will also be a Lasagna and Spaghetti Dinner, dine-in or carry-out, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Adults $6, children $3 for those under age 12.
