Trinity Laine Briggs, 41, of Ardmore, died Saturday (April 11, 2015) at her home. The family will be having a memorial service at a later time. Willie Dexter Weir, longtime deputy marshal of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Posse, which he founded back in 1972, died Wednesday (April 8, 2015) at Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro. A native of Flintville, the 82-year-old Weir was born Nov. 28, 1932 to the late Buford Earl and Vollie J. Pitts Weir. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served for 42 years as a
Alvin “Buddy” Reeder Clemons, 73, of Flintville, passed away Saturday (April 10, 2015) at Harton Regional Medical Center. He was born in Lauderdale County, Ala., on Oct. 1, 1941, to the late Toney R. and Verlie Lee Hill Clemons. Randy “Brutt” Bonner, 65, of Fayetteville, passed away Wednesday (April 1, 2015) at Lincoln Care Center. He was born in Lincoln County on Sept. 11, 1949 to the late Leroy Strickland and Annie Lou Bonner. He was a brick mason and a member of the Mayberry Street Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Bonner, and son, Lewis Tyrone Reese.
Barnum “Barney” Cowan, 77, of Fayetteville, passed away Friday (March 27, 2015) in Huntsville Hospital. Mr. Cowan was a native of Lincoln County, the son of the late James and Marie Pirtle Cowan. He was a retired from Goodman as a welder and was a member of the Gum Springs Baptist Church. Mr. Cowan loved mowing grass, being outside and helping people. Sue Blaylock, 84, of Murfreesboro, passed away Monday (March 9, 2015) at Saint Thomas of Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. She was a native of Moore County and the daughter of the late Aaron and Norma Rutledge.
