Sir’s Fabrics opens new sewing center

Sir's Sewing Center Ribbon Cutting 01Sir’s Fabrics, located on North Elk Avenue just off the Fayetteville, expanded their business last week with a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of its new sewing center.

Ken and Carol MacKay, owners of the store, were joined by family, employees, friends and members of the Fayetteville/Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce, as well as Miss Tennessee 2012 Chandler Lawson.

Sir’s now carries several new models of Brother sewing machines, from a basic machine to top of the line machines that are surgers and embroider, quilt and more.

“We have all kinds of combinations and price levels,” said Ken MacKay. “Brother is leading the industry in technology, but their prices … are still very affordable,” he said.

Carol’s father, Joseph I. (Joe) Sir and his wife, Roslyn Ginsburg Sir, founded Sir’s Fabrics about 64 years ago. The family has made many contributions to the community and region over the years.
