Fayetteville Police are investigating nearly a dozen auto burglaries committed in Fayetteville in just one week in mid-October.

On Fourth Avenue, two vehicles were burglarized. Change was stolen from one, and a gym bag and contents from another. On Swanson Boulevard, one vehicle was  burglarized Wednesday where change was stolen. Another vehicle on the same street was burglarized on Oct. 12.

On Chestnut Street, someone broke into a vehicle, but nothing was reported missing. A forced entry was made to a vehicle on Hatcher Drive, where  cash was taken, the console was broken and someone attempted to steal a radio.

On North Franklin Street, one vehicle was entered Wednesday evening. That vehicle had been burglarized 10 days earlier when cash had been stolen from it.  On Market Street, a CD player was stolen from another vehicle. In the parking lot of a convenience store on Pulaski Highway, cash was stolen. Cash and a digital camera were stolen from two vehicles on Green Street.

Fayetteville Police Chief Doug Carver offered some advice to residents – “Lock your car. Take your keys … we try to catch them, but with limited resources and manpower, we can’t be everywhere all of the time.”

If you have information about these crimes, contact the Fayetteville Police Department or call Lincoln County Area Crime Stoppers at 433-STOP.
