CHP’s ‘Christmas Belles’ opens Friday

Four Performances This Weekend

Sara Jo Pierce and Brenda Wilkes rehearse their roles in “Christmas Belles”, which is set for four performances this weekend at the Fayetteville/Lincoln County Museum and Civic Center. Evening performances are Friday and Saturday, Nov. 9 and 10, with matinees Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 10-11.

Carriage House Players’ next production “Christmas Belles” opens Friday evening at the Fayetteville/Lincoln County Museum and Civic Center.

Directed by Andrea Delap and written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten, “Christmas Belles” is the much anticipated sequel to last year’s local hit “Dearly Beloved.”

“Those sassy Futrelle sisters of Fayro, Texas, are at it again,” said Delap. “It’s time for the annual church Christmas program, and the Futrelles are in charge.”

Hilarity ensues as things start to go awry, she continued, describing the storyline.  Half the cast of the program comes down with food poisoning from the Band Boosters’ pancake breakfast that morning, the director of the last 27 Christmas programs keeps trying to take over, and Santa Claus is passing a kidney stone.

“All of this and more makes for a night of comedy you don’t want to miss,” Mrs. Delap added.

Evening performances are set for 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 9 and 10, with matinee performances 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday afternoons, Nov. 10 and 11. Then performances will continue Nov. 15, 16 and 17 at 7 p.m. each evening.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students, and are available at Bagley and Bagley Insurance Agency, The Book Inn, Carter’s Drug Store, Elk River Coffee Company, The Flower House, Parks Jewelers, Regions Bank, and Sissy’s Antiques. You can also make reservations by calling (931) 433-1300 or emailing carriagehouseplayers@gmail.com.
