Wanda (Yeager) Boyd, formerly of Fayetteville, has just published her first cookbook, “Simple Cooking”.
The cookbook is compiled of 200 “simple” recipes that would connect anyone with the basics of preparing wonderful dishes for family and friends to enjoy. From appetizers, soups and salads, main courses, side dishes, and those special seasonings and dressings, you can use her cookbook for an entire meal.
“This is a true guide to a perfect dinner or party,” Boyd says.
A few examples of the offerings include Sinful Chocolate Cake, thick homemade Ranch Dressing and Thousand Island Dressing, Dry Hot Wings, Mushroom Burgers and stuffed Red Potatoes.
“I wanted something that would be simple,” she said, noting that it is great for young and old cooks, busy moms, career people or college students on a slim budget.
Since relocating to Chattanooga in 2007, Wanda continued to work in the telecommunications industry after leaving the local office manager’s position of Charter Communications. Having a dream of someday seeing her recipes in print has now become an achievement. With inner determination, encouragement and support from her husband, Tony, 2012 was intended to make the dream come true.
Visit The Book Inn on the south side of the Fayetteville Square during “The Host of Christmas Past” weekend to purchase your copy. Wanda will be present to sign cookbooks on Friday, Nov. 9, from 5 until 7 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 10, from noon until 3 p.m. There is currently a copy of Simple Cooking on display at The Book Inn. The cookbooks are $10 each.
