Driver safety class offered by AARP
The AARP Driver Safety Program class is being offered at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church on Oct. 24-25 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The cost is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members.
The AARP DSP is a classroom driver refresher course conducted by AARP volunteers for people over 50. Course participants sharpen their driving skills, develop strategies for adjusting to age-related changes in vision, hearing and reaction time, and learn how to handle the challenges of today’s roads, including how to deal with aggressive drivers.
Upon completion, Tennessee participants are eligible for a mandatory discount on their auto insurance. Amounts will vary by company; be sure to check with your insurer to determine your discount. This discount is good for three years, and you must re-take the class every three years in order to continue to receive this discount.
Many people have taken the class and it’s probably time to renew if the class was taken prior to 2008. Check with your insurance company to see if it is time to retake the class.
This class is open to anyone in the Lincoln County community who wants to save money on car insurance.
Contact Tom Brinkmeyer at 937-6519 to reserve your seat in this class. Class size is limited, so call as soon as possible. The class instructor is Mary Ann Meyer-Schuck.
