Swinford earns scholarship

Emily Swinford, a nursing student at Motlow College, is the recipient of the Dane Evers Memorial Scholarship, according to Jan Rogers, director of advancement at Motlow.

Swinford graduated from Lincoln County High School this year and lives in Fayetteville. She said she is honored to receive the scholarship, which was established by Lincoln County Bank in 2004 in memory of Evers, a former bank employee.

The Dane Evers Scholarship and similar scholarships are awarded through the Motlow College Foundation. Anyone can contribute to existing scholarships or establish new ones.
