The Community Playhouse, Inc. is moving into its 58th year of providing live theater entertainment for Tullahoma and the surrounding communities. During its recent End of the Year Annual Picnic and Membership Meeting, playhouse members elected new officers for the year and the 2012-2013 season of plays was announced.
I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change is a musical, also written by Joe DiPietro. It is slated for production February 15, 16, 17 and 22, 23, 24, 2013. “What a better way to celebrate Valentines than with a musical that looks at relationships between the sexes,” says Heather Kleinfeld who will direct the play. Auditions for the production are set for Saturday, November 3; Sunday, November 4; and Monday, November 5, 2012. Auditioners will be asked to sing and read. Casts of eight people — four men and four women—of varying ages are being sought for this show. Auditions for this show will be held at South Jackson Civic Center in Tullahoma.
I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change takes on the comedy and tragedy of relationships with a simplicity and truthfulness that will leave the audience rolling in the aisles with laughter and quietly wiping tears from their eyes at other moments. This production, filled with the style and music from the 1980’s will inspire audience members to explore the meaning of love and relationships. A variety of characters are portrayed as they face the trials and tribulations of dealing with the opposite sex.
