The Tennessee Waling Horse National Celebration, noted for crowning the World Grand Champion Tennessee Walking Horse, is not only confined to showing horses!
On Sunday, Sept. 26, the Walking Horse Trainers’ Ladies Auxiliary held their 14th Annual Dog Show. Canines from across the United States competed for top honors in this ever-popular venue.
Kerstie Clark Wolaver and her young golden retriever, Buddy, walked away with the blue ribbon in the highly competitive obedience class. Filled with 18 prime entries, many of which were handled by adults, Buddy was the epitome of obedience as he followed Kerstie’s commands to the letter.
The pair, trained by Canine Solutions of Pulaski, had trumpeted earlier this month at the International Dog Show held in Murfreesboro, winning two prestigious blue ribbons.
Kerstie attends Riverside Christian Academy in Fayetteville, where she cheers for the Knights. She is the granddaughter of Betty Manley, Weldon and Janice Manley, Fayetteville, Sis and Grady Osborne, Cornersville, and Doug and Brenda Wolaver.
