The John R. Massey Camp #152, Sons of Confederate Veterans, will meet on Thursday, Aug. 9, in the Fayetteville Municipal Building auditorium.
Camp Commander Dr. James Armitage will call the meeting to order at 7 p.m.
“We are honored to have Mr. Jimmy Pemberton as the guest speaker for the meeting. Mr. Pemberton is a well known speaker on the War Between the States,” stated Armitage.
Pemberton’s program for the evening is titled, “Roswell, Georgia, and Sweetwater Creek, Georgia Mill Workers Charged with Treason”.
“You will find out just who these mill workers were, and what happened to them,” Armitage said.
The regular camp business meeting will follow the program. A report on the transactions of the recent National SCV Convention in Murfreesboro will be given. The meeting and program is free and open to anyone interested in Southern history. The Sons of Confederate Veterans is a heritage organization for men who have an ancestor that served honorably in the Confederate Army or Navy.
