Obituaries for July 25 Edition

Wanda W. Ashby, 53. of Fayetteville, died Friday (July 13, 2012) at Lincoln Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with the Rev. John E. Brown officiating. Burial followed in Sulphur Springs. Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Virginia Faye Bain, 78, of Flintville, died Tuesday afternoon (July 17, 2012) at Huntsville Hospital. She was a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of the late Harrison Lafayette and Carrie Henderson Crabtree. She was a former employee of Serbin Fashion and Lee Manufacturing. Ms. Bain was of the Protestant Faith. Survivors include a son, Mark Bain of Alabama; daughter-in-law, Judy Bain of Flintville; grandchildren, Jennifer and Katie Bain of Flintville; Daniel Bain of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Michael Bain of Bay Minette, Ala., and their  mother, Beth; sister, Brooke; nephew, Harry Crabtree of Flintville; and several other nieces and nephews. Ms. Bain was preceded in death by a son, Scott Bain. Funeral services were conducted Friday morning at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Cleo Moon officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Andrew Carl Beach, 24, of Toney, Ala., died Friday (July 20, 2012) in Madison County, Ala. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Ala., with Pastor Steve Lacey officiating. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery, Toney, Ala. Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Joseph Richard “Joe Joe Pie” Duggan, 77, of Hazel Green, Ala., died Thursday (July 12, 2012) at Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville, Ala. Funeral services were conducted Saturday evening at Hazel Green Funeral Home with the Rev. Dean Brooks officiating. Hazel Green Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Janice Harris Gault, 69, of Fayetteville, died Tuesday (July 17, 2012) in Huntsville Hospital. A native of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Pauline Williams Harris, was a former employee of Lee Manufacturing and currently was employed by Genesco. Mrs. Gault was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Couch and husband, Keith, of Fayetteville; son, Chris Gault and wife, Kristy, of Fayetteville; one grandchild, Brittany Couch of Fayetteville; three sisters, Josephine Bolander and Karen Fulcher, both of Petersburg, Sharon Tate of Fayetteville; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gault was preceded in death by a sister, Phylis Mills. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Don Hudson officiating. Burial followed in Kirkland Cemetery beside her husband, James Gault, who passed away in 1995. Higgins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Patsy Solway Grear, 63, of Huntsville, Ala., died Sunday (July 15, 2012) at her residence. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 3601 Beaty Street in Huntsville, Ala. Hazel Green Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

George “G.W.” O’Keefe, 77, of Ardmore, Ala., died Tuesday (July 17, 2012) at his home. Funeral services were held Friday at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Marable officiating. Burial was in Gatlin Cemetery. Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Lottie B. Randolph, 85, of Ardmore, died Thursday (July 19, 2012) at Huntsville Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Ala., with the Rev. Derrick Moose officiating. Burial was in Gatlin Cemetery. Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Linda L. Taylor, 58, of Fayetteville, died Monday (July 16, 2012) at Huntsville Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with the Rev. Carlos Beddingfield officiating. Burial followed in Shady Grove Cemetery. Waylan B. Weir, 71, of Fayetteville, died Friday evening (July 20, 2012) at St. Thomas Hospital. A native of Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Bufford and Volley Weir. He was a retired from Fayetteville Lumber as sales rep and was a member of the Maranatha Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Buntley Weir of Fayetteville; son, Matthew and wife, Sharon Weir, of Chattanooga; daughters, Erica Weir of Fayetteville, Dawn Syler of Flintville, Melissa Weir of Fayetteville; son, Greg Weir of Lebanon; grandchildren, Fallon and Patton Syler; brothers, Dexter Weir of Flintville, Gary Weir of Flintville; sisters, Carol Cash of Fayetteville, June Jean of Kelso, Lorene Jones of Flintville; and mother-in-law, Joyce Buntley of Fayetteville. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Weir, and sister, Addie Bea Horton. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at Maranatha Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Nichols officiating. Burial followed in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Higgins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Bob Whitt, 89, of Taft, died Friday (July 20, 2012) at National Health Care Center in Pulaski. Funeral services were held Monday morning at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Ala., with Bros. Steve Hargrove and Alan Hughes officiating. Interment was in Blanche Cemetery. Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
