Perry Hall portrays Judge James R. Chilcoat, who is buried in the cemetery at First Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville. Chilcoat was killed in 1864. As tradition says, he attempted to stop Union deserters from raiding homes in the county. Volunteers are being sought for the cemetery stroll as well as other events during this year’s 25th Annual “Fayetteville … Host of Christmas Past.” For more information, contact the Chamber at (931) 433-1234 or Fayetteville Main Street at (931) 433-7006.
