Registration for fall soccer, baseball and softball has been set for each Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. throughout July and the first week in August at South Lincoln Sportsplex.
In addition, parents wishing to play Lincoln County soccer can either sign-up at the Sportsplex, or pick-up a registration form at the Fayetteville Recreation Center.
The Lincoln County soccer program will be held at the county and city parks this fall but is being coordinated by the Sportsplex. You may register online and designate your preferred park for practices during registration.
“We had a wonderful program in the spring and will greatly expand that program this fall,” said Larry Beyl, who is helping organize the programs.
If you plan to register at the Sportsplex during one of its Saturdays, registration for July 13 will be at the main concession, but registrations for July 20, 27, and Aug. 4 will be at the soccer concession stand, as the park has baseball tournaments during those weekends. Signs will be posted.
All leagues will be supported in all three sports. The fees are $45 for baseball and softball, and $55 for soccer. Uniforms are not required in baseball and softball, but will be supplied by sponsors and part of the fee for soccer.
The fee pays for insurance, lighting, uniforms (for soccer), and for those games held at the Sportsplex, team drinks. In addition, all members of the fall program get a $1 discount on the waterslide for the entire family. The slide is open through the season.
For soccer, drafting of teams will occur on Aug. 4, which will allow for two pre-selected players for each coach, and the rest randomly selected. Rules for the game will be based on AYSO rules but allow for more competitive play.
For baseball and softball, drafting is Aug. 11. Tiny Titan teams may bring nine players, all other teams may bring seven players, with the remainder being drafted.
The season for each of the sports starts Aug 25, skips Labor Day weekend, and ends Sept. 29, with a tournament being played the first week in October before fall break. All tournament attendees will receive a medal.
Tiny Titan, T’ball, and all soccer games will be played on some Thursday evenings and Saturdays, giving eight games total for the season. Thursday’s games will be played under the lights for soccer, too. All other baseball/softball age groups will play double-headers on three of five Saturdays to gain their eight games for the season.
With the tournament, each team should see a minimum of 11 games.
