Civitan International recently congratulated members of the Highland Rim Civitan Club on their 45 years of dedicated service to the Fayetteville-Lincoln County community.
The Highland Rim Civitan Club was organized May 27, 1967.
“This is a wonderful achievement! Your longevity is a testament to sustained leadership, hard work, and commitment to the ideals of Civitan,” wrote W. John Rynearson, CAE executive vice president with Civitan International.
The club has been very active in the lives of people through organizations such as Special Olympics, the Child Development Center and the International Research Center in Birmingham, Ala., which helps those with developmental disabilities.
The club also helps with Junior’s House and gives a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior in Lincoln County. In the month of May, the club sponsored and served 80 Special Olympians and parents at their awards banquet.
The Highland Rim Civitans meet the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Mildred’s Restaurant.
