The Imagination Library of Lincoln County will hold its Five-Mile Race on Saturday, Sept. 20, at Kiwanis Park in Fayetteville.

“Imagine – running the avenues on a cool fall morning to raise money for a great cause,” said Helen Fussell, race director. “Everyone benefits from the Imagination Library!”

The new distance and new location for the annual IL race will see runners begin the race at Kiwanis Park on Thornton Taylor Parkway in Fayetteville. The five-mile course will wind through the avenues, offering plenty of neighborhood support to cheer you on. There will be two aid stations along the route.

Registration is underway now. Entry is $30 until Aug. 31 and $35 from Sept. 1 to race day. The cost includes a t-shirt, refreshments, and registration for door prizes. The first 150 registrants are guaranteed a t-shirt, so register early. You can register at www.active.com or print an application by going to www.runlincolncounty.com.

Cool running visors be awarded to the first 150 finishers of the race.

“We needs lots of volunteers and sponsors,” Fussell added. If you are interested in helping by being a volunteer or being a race sponsor, contact Fussell at fussellh@gmail.com or at (931) 580-3081.

The race is part of the Run Lincoln County Grand Prix, a series of races being held here this year.
