Thursday evening, Sept. 4, Lincoln County High School will be hosting its annual College and Career Fair with over 40 representatives from area colleges, technical schools, and branches of the military available from 4-6 p.m. in the school’s commons area.

In addition, several local industry representatives are going to be in attendance to meet with students who are seeking employment after graduation.

“All students and their parent(s)/guardian(s) are encouraged to attend,” said Lainie Harrison, guidance counselor. “If there are uncertainties at this time about what your student’s plans are for after high school, attend this event to explore possibilities and seek information.

“If your student has a good idea about where he or she would like to receive an education or training after high school, come to the College and Career Fair to learn more about what will be necessary to pursue that ‘good idea’.”

Also occurring on the evening of Sept. 4 is a Financial Aid Seminar. A representative from the Tennessee Student Assistance Corp. (TSAC), which facilitates the Lottery scholarship, Wilder-Naifeh grant, and other financial assistance programs for Tennessee students, will be presenting information to senior students and their parent(s)/guardian(s) in the LCHS auditorium from 6-7 p.m.

Information will include post-secondary education planning and insight to filling out the free application for Federal Student Aid, which is necessary to receive any state or federal assistance.

In addition to hearing from a TSAC representative, a presentation will be made by a LCHS guidance counselor regarding the pursuit of scholarships on university, national, and local levels.
