Mr. and Mrs. McGehee celebrate 68th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Willie C. McGehee celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on July 19 with family at Zaxby’s in Fayetteville.
They were married on July 18, 1946 in Huntsville, Ala., at the courthouse. Mrs. McGehee is presently 82 years old, and Mr. McGehee will be 92 in September.
A celebration was held with the couple’s children, grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one great-great-grandson, only 11 days old.
Mrs. McGehee was the former Willow Deen Allen, daughter of the late Ambrose and Julia Ann Cantrell Allen.
Mr. McGehee was the son of the late George Cleveland and Ida Pearl Miles Campbell and his adopted parents were the late William Carroll and Willie Jane Stubblefield McGehee.
The Lord blessed them with five children, Glyndia McGehee Emery (Randy) Trent, Lawrence McGehee, Jerry (Terry Sneed) McGehee of Flintville, Mary Partin of Mulberry and Billy McGehee of Mulberry; six grandchildren, Willa Sue, Michael, Burlin, Bobbie, Teresa and Angel; two adopted grandchildren, Casey and Amber McGehee; 11 great-grandchildren, Julie, Brandon, Chris, Brandi, Elijah, Gabriel, Sarah, Victoria, Courtney, Hannah, Lucas; nine great-grandchildren, Ben, Allie, Mack, Joseph Michael, Angelina, Graeson, Natalie, Nathan and Gabby.
Out of those, the couple has lost two children, Glyndia and Lawrence; two in-laws, James Terry Partin and Jimmie Lou Baker McGehee Benson; one great-grandchild, Courtney; and one great-great-grandchild, Joseph Michael.
