‘Christmas in July’ blood drive Friday

On Friday, July 18, Blood Assurance will hold a “Christmas in July” Community Blood Drive on the inner east side of the square from 10:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Sponsors include Lincoln County Health System, The Elk Valley Times, Fayetteville-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, Kiwanis, Bank of Lincoln County, Lincoln County Government, City of Fayetteville Government, John Karby-Edward Jones and WEKR/WYTM.

“Blood Assurance has been the blood supplier to our hospital since 2009,” said Mary Beth Seals, director of marketing for the Lincoln County Health System. “They are a regional supplier of blood, located in Chattanooga. Any donation made to Blood Assurance stays in our region. Making a donation in more than one way is giving back to your community. Blood Assurance has been successful because of people who donate in their community; those donations remain in their network.

“There are eleven Blood Assurance collection centers in the state and nine bloodmobiles that make their way to donation sites daily. Currently Blood Assurance serves 56 hospitals.”
