Ellie Mae Curtis, 78, of Huntsville, Ala., living in Fayetteville, died on Saturday (June 28, 2014) at Huntsville Hospital. Funeral services were held Monday morning at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Ala., with Bro. William Curtis officiating. Burial was in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, Ala. Danica Grace Dilworth, infant daughter of Nathan and Beth Norris Dilworth, died Thursday (June 26, 2014). Survivors, in addition to her parents, include grandparents, Chuck and Patricia Norris of Fayetteville, Shelby and Josephine Dilworth of Fayetteville; uncle, Nick Norris of Elora; aunt, Christy and David Moore of Fayetteville; three cousins; and a host of other family members. Robbin Denise Washington Flewellen, 56, of Kelso, died Tuesday (June 24, 2014). Mrs. Flewellen was free spirited, outgoing, loving and so much more. She never went a day without speaking to anyone who crossed her path. She never knew a stranger and was the friendliest person ever, most people would say. Survivors include her daughter, Kristin Denise Flewellen; grandsons, Jackson Nicholas Reed; her daughter’s father and her friend forever, Chris Flewellen and his brother, Donald Flewellen; parents, Harold and Emma Washington; siblings, Sharon (Richard) Grant, Gina W. Guess, Kathy W. (Randy) Casebolt, Stanley Washington; nieces, Heather Fields Johnson, Kaylyn Washington, Taylor Guess, Alison Casebolt; nephews, James Addison, Jacob Smith, Randy Jr. Casebolt, Matt Ryan Casebolt, DJ Flewellen, Casey Flewellen; great-nieces, Katelynn Mae Johnson, Brandy Addison; great-nephews, Josh Addison, Wesley Addison, JD Flewellen and Trey Flewellen. Loy Marion Hendrix, 82, of Toney, Ala., a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in Korea, died Sunday (June 22, 2014) at his home. Jo Evans Kirby, 87, of Fayetteville, died Monday afternoon (June 23, 2014) at her residence. Mrs. Kirby was a native of Moore County, the daughter of the late Roy Evans and Nellie Brazier Evans. She was the floor manager at Carter’s Drug Store for 60 years and a member of the Washington Street Church of Christ. Survivors include her sisters, Marie Mullins of Taft, Pearl Evans of Fayetteville, Dimple Clack of Shreveport, La., Pauline Smith of Chattanooga; nieces and nephews, Myla (DeWayne) Bryant, Heath (Tammy) Mullins, Susan (Mark) Greathouse, Steve (Donna) Smith, Bobby Smith; several great and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Ozell Evans. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Black officiating. Troy Ray Newgent, 50, of Fayetteville, passed away Thursday night (June 26, 2014) at his residence. He was a native of Lincoln County and the son of Marshall Newgent, who survives, and the late Opal Ivey Newgent. He was a truck driver and a member of the Stewart’s Chapel Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Kim Noel Newgent of Fayetteville; children, Shay Sullivan, Dionna Mason and Troy Lee (Megan) Newgent; father, Marshall Newgent, and step-mother, Paulette Newgent; grandchildren, Marley Livingston, Trace Newgent, Waylon Sullivan, Brinlee Newgent, Easton Newgent; sisters, Derein (Joe) Smith, Gena (Phillip) Smartt; brother, Jeff (Donna) Newgent; and several nieces and nephews. Bernice Reese, 66, of Fayetteville, passed away Thursday (June 26, 2014) at St. Thomas Hospital. She was born on Aug. 8, 1947 in Pulaski to the late Robert Jackson Reese, Sr., and Adna Ophelia Pullen. She was a former employee of Amana Manufacturing and was of the Jehovah’s Witness faith. Ms. Reese is survived by her daughter, Petula Reese Cannon of Fayetteville; sons, Christopher George and Jewelnell Reese of Winchester, Troy Laphane Reese of Fayetteville; sisters, Anne Nell Reese and Norma Hall, both of Nashville, Margie Reese of Fayetteville; brothers, Ernest and Betty Reese of Lewisburg, Smiley Joe Reese of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Nykita Cannon, Markita Cannon, Lamar Cannon, Tierra Reese, Kyndra McCoy, Taquian Harper; and great-grandchild, Tredence Bryson. Robert Gordon Wilcox, 68, of Petersburg, passed away Wednesday (June 25, 2014) in Huntsville Hospital. A native of Nassau, N.Y., he was the son of the late Ernest and Anna Pederson Wilcox. Mr. Wilcox was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a retired Environmental Engineer with the Corp of Engineers in Huntsville. He was an elder at the Howell Cumberland Presbyterian Church, as well as a Sunday School teacher and superintendent, and was very active with the youth group. Survivors include his wife, Elaine Marchione Wilcox of Petersburg; daughter, Jennie Wilcox of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Chase and Alleigh; two sisters, Doris Jensen of Brightwaters, N.Y., and Constance Ryan of Discovery Bay, Calif.; aunts, uncles and several cousins, nieces and nephews. James Richard Wilkes, 51, of Petersburg, passed away Friday (June 20, 2014) at USA Medical Center. He was born on Jan. 22, 1963 in Marshall County to the late William R. Wilkes and Norma Jean Beard Woodlee. He was an electrical lineman. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Danielle Hancock, and brother, Joe L. Wilkes. Mr. Wilkes is survived by his daughter, Paige Sanders of Madison, Ala.; sisters, Teresa Knighten of Falkville, Ala., and Danette Wells of Nashville; and grandchildren, Riley and Ragan Sanders and Reece Martin.
