St. Paul Progressive Club hosts annual White Luncheon
The Progressive Club of St Paul AME Church held their annual White Luncheon with a Twist on May 24.
The luncheon is an afternoon of fun, fashion and food. This year’s event was in memory of Frances Abbott, a club member who died in 2013.
Ladies and gentlemen dressed in white outfits that were accessorized with various colors and hats. The entertainment this year included solos from Wanda Tate, Odessa Dangerfield, and Minister Regina Taylor.
Mrs. Abbott’s granddaughter, Siera Thomison, and her two friends from Murfreesboro performed liturgical dance and mime. The luncheon culminated with a parade of hats by the attendees.
The officers of the club are Deborah McKinney, president; Faye Kelso, vice president; Joann Thomison, secretary-treasurer; and Rhonda Harris, assistant secretary-treasurer. Other members of the club are Alice Askins, Corean Bryson, Mary Coffey, Vanessa Dangerfield, Jana Dangerfield, Linda Grizzard, Sandra Hardin, and Barbara Kemp. Rev. Chris Grizzard is pastor of St Paul A.M.E. Church.
