Anthony “Tony” Barnett, 46, of Ardmore, died Sunday (June 15, 2014), at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Ala. Memorial services were held Thursday afternoon at Cash Point Baptist Church with Bro. Derrick Moose officiating. Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Sammy Wayne Berzett, 53, of Elkmont, Ala., died Sunday (June 15, 2014) at Athens-Limestone Hospital in Athens, Ala. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Ala., with Bro. Mitch McCormick officiating. Burial was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ardmore, Ala. Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Gerald Wayne Jones, 66, of Fayetteville, died Sunday (June 15, 2014) at Lincoln Medical Center. A native of Maury County, he was the son of the late William Dave and Annie Lou Russell Jones. He is survived by his daughter, Tracey Jacobs of Fayetteville, and son, Greg Jones of Spring Hill. Graveside services were held Wednesday at the Russell Cemetery in Centerville. Vanessa Lee Leslie, 57, died Thursday (June 12, 2014) in Kalamazoo, Mich. She graduated from Central High School in Fayetteville, was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Fayetteville and had a 13-year career with Lear Corporation. Graveside services were held Monday morning, June 23, in Pleasant View Cemetery, Fayetteville. Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home assisted the family.
Martha Jo Hamilton McCulloch, 43, of Fayetteville passed away Saturday morning (June 21, 2014) at her residence after a hard fought battle with breast cancer. A native of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of Joseph and Martha Len Hamilton of Fayetteville. She was an active and devoted fourth grade teacher at Unity School and music director at Fayetteville First Presbyterian Church. She was very active with the Lincoln County High School baseball and softball programs with her children as well as other activities throughout their lives. Martha Jo was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, daughter and sister but most importantly, she was God’s child. Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her husband, Phil McCulloch of Fayetteville; children, Wheeler McCulloch, Mattie McCulloch and Hannah McCulloch, all of Fayetteville; sister, Melissa Bryant and husband, Chris, of Adams; grandmother, Lenora Weakley of Huntsville, Ala.; father- and mother-in-law, Jim and Glenda McCulloch of Decatur, Ala.; sisters-in-law, Dana Barry and husband, Walt, of Douglasville, Ga., Leslie Ivey and husband, Richard, of Birmingham, Ala.; three nieces; and three nephews. Funeral services were conducted Monday morning at Fayetteville First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Todd Jenkins officiating. Burial followed in Wright’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Fayetteville First Presbyterian Church Music Fund. Higgins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Randy L. Moon, 58, of Kelso, passed away Wednesday (June 18, 2014) at Huntsville Hospital. He was born on May 25, 1956 in Lincoln County to the late Edward L. and Barbara A. Weir Moon. He was employed by Flowers Baking Company and was a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Larry Moon. Mr. Moon is survived by his wife, Debbie Moon of Kelso; daughters, Brandi Potter of Muscatine, Iowa, Rachel Moon of Fayetteville; sister, Cherry Mitchell of Fayetteville; step-daughters, Amanda Goggin and Lorrie Pruett, both of Kelso; step-son, Kerry Pruett of Kelso; grandchildren, J.R. Potter, Tony Potter, Zack Potter, Peyton Bearden and Aja Bearden. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at Gum Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Winfred Stayton officiating. Burial followed in Gum Springs Cemetery. Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
