Flag retirement ceremony Saturday
A flag retirement ceremony is set for Saturday, June 14, at 10 a.m. on the southeast corner of the Lincoln County Courthouse lawn in downtown Fayetteville.
The ceremony is sponsored by the American Legion Post 42 of Fayetteville.
This is an open to the public event, with guest speakers including Lt. Col. Brooke Grubb of Fayetteville, Lincoln County school students and a combat veteran reading essays on what the flag means to them.
Those who have flags they would like to retire are welcome to bring them to the ceremony. All citizens of Lincoln County and Fayetteville are invited to attend.
