LMC appoints Giles new emergency medical director
Lincoln Medical Center CEO Jamie W. Guin, Jr., announced recently that beginning May 1, Scott Giles, D.O., will serve as the Emergency Department Medical Director at Lincoln Medical Center.
As the Emergency Department Medical Director, Dr. Giles will promote the effective delivery of emergency services at Lincoln Medical Center for Lincoln County and surrounding communities.
Dr. Giles earned his medical degree at the University of Heath Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Mo., in 1986 followed by the completion of his internship at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Oakland, Calif. After his internship, Dr. Giles served as a General Medical Officer at the Naval Base in Oakland, followed by six months of training as an Aviation Medical Officer at Naval Aeronautical Medical Institute (NAMI) in Pensacola, Fla.
In 1988, he was appointed the Assistant Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Camp Lejeune, where he served until 1990. From 1990 until 2010, Dr. Giles was the Emergency Department Medical Director at the University Medical Center in Lebanon. He currently holds the positions of Wilson County Medical Examiner, Medical Director for Nashville Superspeedway, Regional Director Air-Evac Life Team and Medical Director Pro-Med Ambulance Service. Dr. Giles has been an emergency staff physician at Lincoln Medical Center since 2011 and is board certified in Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Giles’ extensive training and experience in military and civilian emergency medicine provides him a unique perspective and motivation to lead Lincoln Medical Center’s Emergency Department.”
Dr. Giles was born and raised in Reno, Nev., where he completed his high school and undergraduate studies. He has two children, Random, 21, and Remington, 18. Dr. Giles enjoys spending time with his children, watersports, motorcycles, collecting firearms and playing with his dogs.
The Lincoln County Health System is a full-service, health care system, which serves Lincoln County. It is a multi-faceted health care system whose mission is to provide life-long health care for the people it serves. In addition to a 59-bed acute care hospital, the system consists of a freestanding rehabilitation and wellness center; a 240-bed licensed nursing home, a home health and hospice agency and an ambulance/EMS service.
The facilities are county-owned and are governed by the Lincoln County Health System Board of Trustees.
