Beta Kappa Chapter elects officers

Beta Kappa Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International elects new of-ficers for the 2014-2015 biennium. Beta Kappa Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International met on Monday, March 31, at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church to elect new officers for the 2014-15 biennium.

The new officers are Helen Lowe, president; Carla Caldwell, first vice president; Brenda Ables, second vice president; Cecelia Johnson, recording secretary; Marie Van Lantschoot, corresponding secretary; Andrea Hardison, treasurer; and Martha Wolf, parliamentarian.

Helen thanked outgoing president Meri Bigham for her two years of service to the chapter and presented her a gift from Thistle Farms.

Teresa Brown, legislative chairman, introduced Sheila Hickman, speaker for the evening. She entertained the group with a humorous talk about things going on in the Tennessee legislature.

Erline Patrick gave the inspirational talk, which was followed by a delicious potluck buffet.

Members were reminded to attend the Xi State Convention on June 5-7 in Sewanee. All members were thanked for their hard work during the past biennium.
