Ash Wednesday Services will be held at 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, in the sanctuary of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church on Elk Avenue.
Brown’s Temple A.M.E. Church is hosting a “Family Banquet” on Saturday, March 8, beginning at 5 p.m. at the Charles Gleghorn Center. The Rev. Lee Kinslow is the guest speaker, and the guest choir is the Kinslow Brothers. Special recognition will be given to veterans. Admission is $10 for adults and $6 for children six and under. Carryouts may be picked up starting at 4 p.m. The Rev. Lance Shelton is pastor of Brown’s Temple.
The Women of the Way Bible Study series begins Monday, March 10, at Hope Assembly of God, 28 Deer Trace Rd. The study is entitled A Woman of Strength vs. A Strong Woman, presented by Amy Satterfield. Donations will benefit CASA. Registration and refreshments are from 5:30-6 p.m. The study begins at 6 p.m.
West End Cumberland Presbyterian Church of America presents “Tag Team Ministry” on Saturday, March 15, at 5 p.m. The event features Minister Renee Jones and Elder Moses Jones of Huntsville, Ala. Music will be provided by “The Men of Fayetteville” and “Out Reach Delivery Male Choir” of Huntsville, Ala. Chairpersons are Mother Billy Jean Whitaker and Mother Annie Bell Edminston. The Rev. Dezi Fletcher is pastor of West End Cumberland Church.

The Women of the Way Bible Study series continues Monday, March 17, at the First Presbyterian Church, 101 Mulberry Ave. The study is entitled A Woman of Beauty vs. A Beautiful Woman, presented by Lori Cline. Donations will benefit Thistle Farms. Registration and refreshments are from 5:30-6 p.m. The study begins at 6 p.m.
Pastor Craig Carmichael’s second anniversary will be celebrated by the members of the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday, March 23. The speaker will be Pastor Eddie Richardson of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Wartrace. Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m., morning worship at 11 a.m. The celebration will continue at 3 p.m. with Pastor Wayne Jones and the congregation of New Haysland Missionary Baptist Church in Howell. Everyone is welcome. Fayetteville’s Mount Zion is located at 305 West Maple Street.
John Long Noonday Bible Ministry is being held each Wednesday at 12 noon at St. Paul AME Church at 521 West College St. This Bible Study is open to everyone but especially to those who are unable to attend an evening Bible Study. If you work at night, unable to drive at night, or if your church doesn’t hold Bible Study, etc., members invite you to join them each Wednesday as they study the Word of God. Rev.
