‘Heart of RCA’ benefit dinner, auction slated

Riverside Christian Academy’s Heart of RCA Benefit Dinner & Auction, A Knight in New Orleans, will be held Saturday, March 1, at 6 p.m. in the RCA gymnasium.

Proceeds will benefit continued improvements at RCA with 10 percent designated toward science and technology.

Items on the menu include gumbo, steak, Cajun grilled chicken, red beans and rice, corn and potato boil, petite pan rolls, salad with strawberries, walnuts blue cheese crumble and raspberry vinaigrette, bread pudding or heavenly delight and beverage.

Items collected so far for the auction include tickets for the Adventure Science Center, Broadway Theatre League, Cheekwood – Art & Gardens, Dollywood, Huntsville Botanical Gardens, Huntsville Stars  Home Opener, Huntsville Symphony, Sci-Quest, Tennessee Aquarium at Chattanooga and WonderWorks at Pigeon Forge. Handmade items for auction include student artwork on wall quilts and canvas paintings, framed photography, crochet, woodwork and paintings.

There will also be autographed athletic collectibles such as a Peyton Manning Tennessee Vols Proline helmet, Nolan Ryan baseball, Bo Jackson Auburn mini-helmet and commemorative Titans’ memorabilia.

Other items include artisan treasures, deer hunting package, Duck Dynasty items, Jack Daniel’s tour and meal at Miss Mary Bobo’s, John Deere collectibles, gift certificates for restaurants, massages, salon services and more.

Opportunities are available for four levels of business sponsorships. All sponsors’ names will be mentioned in the program, and businesses have the opportunity to provide promotional materials for guests at the sponsors’ table in the lobby.

Each level of sponsorship includes a number of free tickets and most include auction bucks that can be spent like cash at the auction. Other details of each level are as follows: $500 Golden Knight sponsorship includes four free tickets to the event plus $100 in auction bucks; $250 Silver Knight sponsorship includes four free tickets to the event plus $25 in auction bucks; and $100 Bronze Knight includes two free tickets to the event.

Ask about RCA’s Table Sponsorships for individuals too. $175 will buy tickets for a table of eight with each table member receiving $10 in auction bucks that can be spent like cash during the auction.

Tickets for the event are $20 for adults, $10 for students and $5 for ages four and under.
