The UT Center for Profitable Agriculture has six educational seminars planned statewide for farmer’s market sellers.
Lincoln County will host one of these on March 4 in Fayetteville at the Ralph Hastings Building starting at 9 a.m.
Topics will include increasing sales with electronic payments and SNAP; food manufacturing with a domestic kitchen permit or a commercial kitchen for acidified foods; liability risks and insurance related to food-borne illnesses; catching customers’ eyes with great booth displays; business tax rules; a grower’s prospective on helping customers get what they want; and guidelines for food safety for food sampling activities.
This program is free and open to everyone but space may be limited. Registration is with Nancy Austin in the UT Department of Food Science and Technology.
