Proponents of the 2014 Lincoln County Relay for Life have announced that they will hold a Relay for Life Poster contest.

With an entry deadline of Feb. 28, the poster contest will include four age divisions – six years and under, seven to 10 years of age, 11 to 15 years of age, and 16 and up. All posters must be the original artwork of the individual, and each individual may enter one poster. All entries must also include the theme of the 2014 Lincoln County Relay for Life, which is “Rock’n Relay Around the Clock.”

Any media must be used to create a flat or two-dimensional effect, including paint, crayon, colored pencil, charcoal, paper, or other materials. The poster size must be between eight and one-half inches by 11 inches, and 22 inches by 28 inches.

Each entry must be accompanied by a completed entry form, which are available, along with rules, at the Lincoln County Board of Public Utilities, First National Bank, The Elk Valley Times, The Exchange, First Bank, First Commerce Bank, Fayetteville Public Utilities, First Class Printing, CB&S Bank, and the Fayetteville/Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce.

All entries must be turned in by Feb. 28 at First Bank, located at 1927 Wilson Parkway in Fayetteville.

There will be a $25 prize for the winner in each age category.

Anyone who is interested in helping with the Relay this year should contact Emily Warren at (931) 993-9331.

The next team captain meeting will be held Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 5:15 p.m. in the auditorium of Fayetteville Public Utilities. Anyone who is interested in forming a team, not matter how big or small, is encouraged to attend that meeting.
