Raby to be honored at FHS game

Retired Coach Max Raby will be honored at halftime of the Fayetteville High School boys’ basketball game Thursday, Jan. 23, during their match-up against Cornersville.

Coach Raby spent over 31 years working in the City School system while at Robert E. Lee and Fayetteville Junior High. After retirement in Tennessee, he spent 10 years coaching in Alabama at Ardmore, retiring again 11 years ago.

“We’re proud to have an event to honor Coach Raby and show our appreciation of his many years of dedication,” said FHS Principal Eric Jones. “He played a great part in developing all the athletic programs, building a remarkable history for the schools. We want to invite the entire community to come out and show their support and extend a special invitation to the many that played for him through the years.”

The Lady Tigers’ game gets underway at 6 p.m. with the boys’ game to follow.
