Teams recruited for dodge ball benefit

Teams are being recruited for a Dodge Ball Tournament and Benefit for Dwayne White, a communications officer with the 911 Center serving Fayetteville and Lincoln County, who has cancer.

The tournament, which will assist in paying White’s medical expenses, will be held Saturday, Jan. 25, beginning at 3 p.m. at Fayetteville High School.

Teams, consisting of six to eight players, are being sought to participate in the tournament, which will also see local firemen, police and sheriff’s department officers, as well as members of the Tennessee Highway Patrol and personnel with the Emergency Medical Service compete. Registration in the tournament is $100 per team.

The deadline to sign-up teams is Jan. 15.

Concessions will be available during the tournament, and a silent auction will also be held. General admission will be $5, and donations will be accepted.
