In case you have not heard, the Friends of the Library Winter Gala is fast approaching! The third annual evening of wine, food, great music, awesome silent auction and fun all around will be held here at the library on Jan. 25 from 6 until 8 p.m. If you have not purchased your tickets, please visit Carter’s on the square, the main branch or Park City branch of the Bank of Lincoln County or any Friends Board member.

The theme for this year’s gala is “An Evening with Friends” and will feature lanterns and antique books, and the menu looks incredible. At a recent meeting, the committees discussed some the amazing items to be auctioned, which include Titans tickets, a weekend get-away at a Florida condo, paintings by local artists, including Professional Artist magazine’s cover story Toby Penney and much more! Members of our new Teen Advisory Board will be on hand helping out and mingling with members of the community. They are a great group, and we hope you will take a moment to chat with these ambitious young people.

As most of you know, I just celebrated my first anniversary here at the library, which means that last year’s Gala occurred only a few weeks after I arrived. Not knowing what to expect, I was somewhat overwhelmed at the number of attendees and the outpouring of support I received. It was an incredible night, and the library looked so lovely in all the glitter of a Winter Wonderland. This year, I have been able to be a part of all the planning and development of the event, and I am beyond excited. I know I will have a chance to meet new people while also chatting with those of you who are regulars here at the library and do so much throughout the year to help us make it such a wonderful place to be.

Tickets to the gala are $35 per person, and remember that all the proceeds from this wonderful event come back to the library. The money raised by the Friends has allowed us to bring so many of our new programs to life and to offer new ones all the time. So, I hope you will come out and enjoy this event with us!
