Bikers feed elderly this Christmas
Local motorcycle enthusiasts with the Currahee Motorcycle Club are asking for the public’s help in identifying those in need as bikers once again lend helping hands to the elderly this Christmas.
The tradition of cooking and delivering Christmas Day meals to the elderly began with the local motorcycle group 10 years ago.
Since the tradition began, the numbers have continued to grow, but organizers are hoping for the public’s help so that no one is missed on Christmas Day this year.
“We mostly receive Meals on Wheels referrals,” said Andy Cline, a member of the Currahee Motorcycle Club, who asks that members of the public contact him with names of other elderly folks or shut-ins who might not have anyone to visit them or bring them dinner on Christmas day.
“We’d love to be able to bring them Christmas dinner,” said Cline, noting that deliveries will be made Christmas Day.
If you know of a single elderly person or an elderly couple with no family and/or no resources to have a meal on Christmas Day, please contact Andy at (931) 433-3473 or any member of the club with names and addresses.
