NGA ladies win over Hazel Green

Ninth Grade Academy’s Lady Falcons picked up a win on Thursday of last week, defeating Hazel Green’s Lady Trojans, 46-40.
The ladies’ game scheduled earlier on Monday with Forrest was postponed.
NGA’s record is now 3-3.
Against Hazel Green, the Lady Falcons came from behind, trailing 10-1 at the end of the first quarter. But, the ladies came back in the second, winning the frame 14-6. With 37 seconds remaining in the first half, Kate Porter gave NGA the lead, 15-13, dropping two from the line, but the Lady Trojans nailed a 3-pointer at the buzzer and were on top, 16-15, at the break.
Early in the third, Macey Corder put the ladies up 17-16 and NGA would not trail again. The Lady Falcons won the second half, 31-24, to finish with the win.
Carly Fee led the scoring with 15; Macey Corder, 8; Breanna Flynn, 7; Amy Cobb, Lauren Bradley and Leslie Frye, 4; Kate Porter and Morgan Scivally scored 2.
The ladies were 5 of 7 from the line. Fee hit three from the arch.
For their next action, the ladies were to travel to Coffee County on Monday of this week for their final action before the Christmas break. NGA then returns to action traveling to Shelbyville Jan. 13 starting at 6 p.m.
