Higgins holds ‘50 Plus’ workshop

Higgins Funeral Home recently held the “50 Plus Transitional Workshop” at the Kelly Pittenger Senior Center in Fayetteville.

The workshop was focused on local individuals age 50 and over to help them understand planning options for their transition into the rest of their lives.

“We are always looking for ways to serve our community, and our recent workshop is an example of our focus on helping local families make the most of their senior years,” said Clay Higgins of Higgins Funeral Home.

The following guest speakers shared their expertise in their respective fields: Living Wills, Glenn Carver (Independent Funeral Planning Alliance); Prearranged Funerals, Jayson Davis (Higgins Funeral Home); Cemetery Options, Hope DeJarnatt (Higgins Funeral Home); Financial Planning, Jeff Mathis (Southern Heritage Financial Group); Veterans’ Benefits, Karen Vessell (Social Security & Disability Services); and Medicare Options, Jan Graves (South Central Tennessee Area Agency on Aging and Disability).

“If anyone missed the workshop and would like some of the information that was presented, we invite them to stop by the funeral home,” Higgins said.

Higgins Funeral Home is planning to do another workshop soon and invites the public to request the workshop topics by posting on the Higgins Funeral Home Facebook page.
