Lincoln County High School’s Lady Falcons improved their record to 3-1 last week, winning on the road over Marshall County Monday night, then defeating Moore County at home on Thursday.
Against the Tigerettes, the ladies were on top 10-7 at the end of one but broke the game open, taking the second, 21-4. By the break, the Lady Falcons were up 31-11.
LCHS won the second half, 29-21, to finish with the win.
Eleven ladies put points on the board, led by Lauren Gower with 10; Morgan Higgins and Samantha Williams had 9; Becca Lewter, 8; Cortney Storey, 6; Darian Norman and MaKinley Fitch, 4; Brianna Sanders and McKinley Slayton, 3; Khaila King and Bethany Lamon scored 2.
LCHS picked up 36 points off the bench. The ladies were 7 of 26 from the arch and 15 of 22 from the line.
On Thursday of last week, Moore County came to town, and the Lady Falcons took the win, 68-39.
The first half was close with the ladies leading 21-15 at the end of one and up 31-28 at the break. But, defensive pressure in the third saw the Lady Falcons put 30 points on the board. The Lady Raiders turned the ball over 10 times in the period.
LCHS took the second half, 39-11, for the win.
McKinley Fitch and Cortney Storey set the pace with 12 points; Morgan Sanders, 11; Samantha Williams, 8; McKinley Slayton and Khaila King, 6; Bethany Lamon, 5; Lauren Gower, 3; Breanna Sanders and Darian Norman, 2; and Becca Lewter scored 1.
The ladies were 8 of 12 from the line.
For their next action, the Lady Falcons were to travel to Hazel Green on Monday before playing in Cannon County’s Thanksgiving Tournament Friday at 6:30 p.m. then on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
