Beta Kappa Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International met Tuesday at Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville.
President Meri Bigham welcomed members who enjoyed soup and sandwiches.
Area VI Director Sherry Woods spoke to the group about the value of membership in DKG and Nancy Cheatham gave a book talk introducing members to books to David McCullough who wrote The Greater Journey, Erik Larson who wrote the Devil in the White City and Margaret Eades who wrote Finding Sara.
Brenda Ables’ inspirational message was about enjoying family and friends during this holiday season.
The silent auction was successful as it brought in $476 to benefit the scholarship fund which gives scholarships to deserving high school seniors going into the teaching field.
Alva Cavnar entertained the group with a song entitled “The Five Days of Thanksgiving.”
