Hospice Candlelight Memorial Service set
Lincoln Medical Home Health and Hospice will host the Annual Candlelight Memorial Service on Sunday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church sanctuary.
The Candlelight Memorial Service is in honor of those Hospice patients served by the agency this past year. The theme for this year’s service is “Finding Meaning in Loss”.
“While they are with us, and long after they pass away, those we love continue to touch our lives,” said Debbie Kilpatrick of Lincoln Medical Home Health and Hospice. “Missing them is a natural part of grief and mourning. Please join us as we celebrate the memories of those we have lost. The service is open to anyone who would like to light a candle in memory of a loved one or friend who has passed away, whether or not that person was a Hospice patient.”
Music will be provided during the service, and refreshments will be served afterward by the Hospice volunteers.
Attendees to the service are encouraged to bring a “tribute” to be read during the lighting of their loved one’s candle. The tribute can be a poem, a letter or a brief eulogy. There will also be a remembrance table for photos and mementos to share with others. Hospice volunteers will be available to assist those who would prefer not to present a tribute or light a candle themselves but want to remember their loved one.
First United Methodist Church is located at 200 North Elk Avenue. For more information about the service, please contact Debbie Kilpatrick at 433-8088.
