Information regarding the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will also be presented.
Everyone is welcome. Parents/guardians of seniors are strongly encouraged to attend.
If you have questions or comments, please contact Andrea Brewer at FHS at 931-433-3158 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Brewer shared the following important financial aid tips from TSAC: Pay close attention to deadlines. Check with your high school counselor, employer, church, bank and search free websites for scholarships. Contact the department of your intended major and other campus departments regarding scholarships. Remember, do not pay to apply for scholarship or attend presentations guaranteeing free scholarship.
Inform financial aid administrators about special circumstances that may affect your financial aid. Read everything you receive from a prospective college because it may require more information from you or your parents prior to awarding financial aid. Keep a copy of all financial aid documents.
Scholarships with upcoming deadlines are Prudential Spirit of Community; Susan G. Komen; Walmart Associate Scholarship; AXA Achievement; Scarlett Family Foundation; Hispanic Scholarship Fund; SJ Brady STOP Hunger Scholarship; The Hagan Scholarship; Tennessee Concrete Association essay contest; Elks National Foundation MVS Scholarship.
Scholarships opening for application soon are National FFA Organization Scholarship; Davidson Fellow Scholarship; Burger King Scholars; and Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program
These are brief lists of available scholarships, Brewer noted. Please check with the guidance office and conduct individual searches for more opportunities.
