Fraud, financial abuse focus of local program
The Adult Abuse Coalition of South Central Tennessee is sponsoring the tenth annual statewide campaign to educate and inform all Tennesseans about fraud and financial abuse of seniors and disabled adults.
Gov. Bill Haslam is set to sign the official proclamation to proclaim October as Fraud & Financial Abuse Awareness Month in Tennessee.
In recognition of Fraud and Financial Abuse Awareness Month, the coalition will be coordinating several events and distributing publications across the south central Tennessee region during the month of October. Coalition members will present an educational program on fraud and financial abuse at your local senior citizens centers. The Kelly Pittenger Senior Citizens Center in Fayetteville maybe contacted at (931) 433-6154 for additional information about the program. All interested citizens are encouraged to attend.
The signing of the official county proclamation will also take place in conjunction with the educational program, with local mayors, law enforcement, state legislators, and other local community leaders being invited to attend.
