‘Renaissance’ to be in concert at Fayetteville C.P.
The Fayetteville Cumberland Presbyterian Church is pleased to announce that Renaissance, the nationally known choir of Bethel University, will be in concert on Sunday, Oct. 27, at 6:30 p.m., according to the Rev. Tim Smith.
Renaissance has performed both internationally and throughout the United States. Over the years, the 50-person choral group has won many awards and honors. They perform various kinds of Christian music, including spirituals, anthems, hymns and Southern Gospel songs.
The Rev. Tim Smith stated, “It is a great honor for our congregation and community to host Renaissance as they are an outstanding and nationally known choral group. I hope that anyone that enjoys Christian music will make plans to attend. I know that they will receive a blessing.”
Renaissance is a ministry of Bethel University. The Bethel University Performing Arts Experience showcases the vocal, instrumental and theatrical talents of Bethel students. Bethel supports their performing arts the same way they support their athletics. The performers receive the same scholarship as the starting quarterback.
Another unique and important aspect of the scholarship program is that students do not have to major in the arts to receive an equal share of scholarship money. In fact, most students major in something other than music or theatre. Thus Renaissance provides students the opportunity to develop their skills and talents while earning a degree in a major of their choice.
