RCA unbeaten at home this season
The Knights of Riverside Christian Academy came out of their last regular season home game on Friday with a nail-biter 36-32 victory over Ezekiel Academy from Montgomery.
“I’m proud of the way our guys played through adversity. I think we may have looked past Ezekiel, but we were able to overcome a slow start to win the game,” said RCA’s Head Coach Travis Creasy.

The game started like most eight-man football games with several touchdowns for each team. The score at the end of the first quarter was 24-20 with RCA in the lead. But, after the first quarter, the game became a rare defensive struggle. RCA and EA each scored one touchdown in the second quarter for a score of RCA, 30, EA, 26, at the half.
Both teams went scoreless in the third quarter, and then each team scored one touchdown in the fourth quarter for the final score of 36-32.
“I was very impressed with our ability over the last two weeks to find a way to hold the opponent out of the end zone in fourth and goal situations,” said Coach Creasy.
Quarterback Josh Brooks led the team in rushing with 27 carries for 147 yards, one touchdown and one two-point conversion. Brooks also completed nine of 16 passes for 161 yards and three touchdowns. Seth Finch led the team in receiving with seven catches for 139 yards, three touchdowns and one two-point conversion, and Mason Forchetti had two catches for 24 yards and one two-point conversion.
